Steve Muns is a Financial Representative for TPEG Securities, LLC

 

Steve is a motivated, agile leader and Real Estate investor with over 20 years of foundational technical skills, asset management and leadership experience.  Early in his career, he was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan’s M&A group in New York followed by extensive buy-side investing and private equity experience across multiple industries at Highland Capital and affiliates of Hunt Consolidated in Dallas, TX.  He is also an entrepreneur known for working in multiple environments and industries turning around extremely difficult circumstances as well as capitalizing on growth opportunities.  In 2015, Steven started and ran Periscope Resources, an Oil & Gas company operating 27 oil wells on over 20,000 acres in Pecos County, TX.

 

Steve is passionate in the belief that anything is possible if you set goals high enough, understand and do the amount of work required to accomplish those goals, and surround yourself with the right people to get the job done.

 

His experience includes:

  • Starting and building profitable companies in the following industries: Oil & Gas Exploration and Production, Trucking and Logistics, and Specialty Retail

  • Creating a culture of excellence across multiple industries and creating over $100MM in investor value

  • Recruiting and developing talent and instilling a quality collaborative culture

  • Sourcing investments and executing two leveraged buyouts for 4x invested capital within 3-years while at Hunt Consolidated

  • Leading 20 investments for $149MM in leveraged loans, bonds, and equities for a 26% return while at Highland Capital

 

Steve studied at Southern Methodist University with a B.B.A. in Finance at the Cox School of Business and a minor in Economics.  Additionally, he studied at the M.I.T. School of Architecture + Planning, receiving a certificate in Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment.

 

Steve is a musician (drummer), photographer and athlete, having practiced Jiu Jitsu since 2013. He is also a guest presenter and mentor for the Entrepreneurship classes at Lovejoy High School.  He is the father of three boys, Henry, Alexander and Adrian.
