Pat Swanson is a Principal for TPEG Securities, LLC


Pat serves as the compliance officer and strategic partner at Trinity Private Equity Group, focusing his efforts to increase Trinity’s presence and assets across institutional channels as well as in Coastal and South Texas.


Pat brings over 35 years of investment analysis and wealth management experience to serve Trinity’s clients. From 1993 to 2019, Pat served as partner, senior portfolio manager and securities analyst with Oxbow Advisors and its predecessor, King Investment Advisors, in Houston. In the early nineties, he was an investment underwriter for US WEST’s corporate finance group, analyzing securities and managing portfolios of high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and private placements. Pat began his investment career as a corporate banker at RepublicBank Dallas (now Bank of America) before moving to ABQ Capital Markets, where he managed a portfolio of high-yield bonds and leveraged loans. He attained the rank of Captain in the US Air Force, negotiating contracts at Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles.


In 2018, Forbes selected Pat as one of the top fifteen wealth advisors in Texas. In 2019, the magazine named him one of the top ten wealth advisors in South Texas.


Pat is a CFA charter holder, elected to serve as the President of the CFA Society of Houston in 1999 and as the President of the CFA Societies of Texas in 2017. He also served as governor of the Investment Advisor Association (IAA) for nine years. Presently, Pat serves as a member of the Advocacy Committee of the CFA Societies of Texas.


Pat graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a BS in Economics in 1979 and earned his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in 1982.

Pat has served as a Boy Scout adult leader for the last fifteen years, holding positions from Cubmaster to Scoutmaster. His three sons are all Eagle Scouts, and his daughter earned her Gold Award in Girl Scouts. His most cherished Boy Scout memories are trekking at the Philmont Scout Ranch with his sons.

Pat currently serves on the Investment Committee for the Houston’s Christian Community Service Center (CCSC). Previously, he served on the Investment Committee for the St. Agnes Academy’s Foundation from 2013 to 2019, the last three years as the committee’s chair.
