In July of 2020, Trinity Investors (formerly Trinity Private Equity Group) partnered with Akoya Capital Partners to acquire Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, since renamed to Beacon Manufacturing Group. By acquiring Donnelly, Akoya is commencing a buy and build investment strategy to create an industry leading plastic injection molding platform.
Akoya’s team, which includes Managing Director Bob May, has deep industry experience, subject matter expertise and a proven history of success in the chemicals/plastics industry. Mr. May will serve as Executive Chair on the Board of Directors post-close and be responsible for implementing Akoya’s value creation plan and leading the execution the buy and build strategy. Mr. May will also serve as the Company’s interim CEO and lead the integration efforts to ensure a successful transition to new ownership.
